Is the SAC a school board? No, even though the SAC does have a significant impact on improving school programs, it is not a school board. It is an advisory committee. What types of issues can the SAC address? ● Review school policy and advise principals on curricula and budget issues ● Recommend solutions to a schoolwide problem ● Determine feasibility of implementing new programs ● Keep the community aware of plans and programs initiated at the school. ● Hold forums on particular topics and invite community members to present views. When is the next election and when are the meetings? ● Election- December 17 at 400 pm. For 1 parent rep/Vice Chair and 1 teacher rep. ● 4regular meetings annually- December 17, March 18, and May 15 for SY 2024-2025- possibly of additional special meetings TBD by the Chair. ● Elected members serve 2 years, so should have a DEROS of June 2026 or later.
