Robotics STEM night at Alconbury Middle High School
ALCONBURY, England – The community gathered for an engaging evening of innovation and entertainment at a hands-on robotics festival and movie night hosted by Alconbury Middle High School. The event brought together students, families, and supporters for an interactive experience designed to spark curiosity and celebrate technology.
Attendees explored a wide variety of interactive stations and activities throughout the evening. Robotics students taught guests how to operate the team’s competition robot, giving participants a firsthand look at the skills required in competitive robotics. Aspiring engineers also had the chance to design and build their own robots, with some creations available to take home.
The STEM Showcase Table offered visitors an inside look at the school’s robotics program, where students shared information about competitions, demonstrated robots, and displayed team awards. Nearby, the JROTC Aerodynamics station introduced guests to the principles of flight and how cadets apply aerodynamics in their training. Also provide flying lessons on their flight simulator.
Students unlocked their creative side by building their own NASA-inspired robotic arm, took on the Lego Robot Coding Challenge, and designed a robot-themed puzzle. The Middle School Council provided face painting for those looking to add a colorful touch to the evening.
The evening concluded with a family-friendly robot-themed movie and popcorn, giving guests a chance to relax and enjoy time together after exploring the exhibits.
Beyond the entertainment, the event served as an evening to support the AMHS robotics teams as they prepare for their upcoming competition European Championships in London the Netherlands.
The festival not only showcased student creativity and technical skill but also highlighted the community’s continued support for educational programs and student achievement.
